Key Romance Questions
If you’ve written a romance, your characters have struggled past their obstacles, they’ve been intimate and declared their love for one another, so…happily ever after, right? Not necessarily. I’ve closed plenty of books where I just didn’t buy into the future of the couple. Sometimes the relationship seems based more on chemistry or attraction than that soul-deep connection romance readers crave.
To create the feeling that these characters are each other’s destiny, I consider two key romance questions before I start writing:
Why is the heroine the only woman in the world for him?
